Encoder latency
Time the server spends compressing a rendered frame before sending it.
After the GPU renders a frame, it has to be encoded into a video stream before it can be transmitted. Hardware encoders (NVENC, AMD VCE) do this in 1–4ms. This is one of the few latency components a cloud gaming provider can directly optimize.
